Yanked! Community Guidelines
“Yanked!” is all about fun. Whether your talent is singing, dancing, comedy, magic tricks, or whatever else, Yanked provides an opportunity for anyone with a webcam and internet access to showcase their talents, live in real time, for the world to see – and to judge. Viewers have the fun of watching the performances, and by pressing the Yank! button which just might be the vote that stops the performance!
And most fun of all, Yanked! is a world-wide talent competition: the winner - as defined in the Official Competition Rules, wins the “PRIZE” for that show!
The Yanked! Community is for everyone at least 13 years of age (with parental permission if you are under 18). In order for our Community to continue to enjoy the site, please abide by the following common sense rules. Since your performance is being streamed “live” (subject to a delay to give us the opportunity, but not the obligation, to monitor your performance) everything you do, say, or is visible to your webcam during your performance will be broadcast worldwide! So please:
- No inappropriate behaviour. Do not include nudity, pornography, obscene or lewd acts, acts of violence, hate speech, serious profanity, defamation, gross subject matter, or show or encourage any criminal activity such as drug taking, bomb-making, arson, etc. (“Inappropriate Material”)
- Abide by copyright, trademark and privacy laws. Do not perform or incorporate songs, video, photos, or other material that you did not create yourself or get permission to use. When performing, do not wear caps, t-shirts or jerseys with clearly visible logos, and be careful not to have logos or trademarks visible in the background, unless, of course, you have permission to do so. Do not under any circumstance show or divulge your personal information or the personal information of any other person or entity. And of course you must have permission of everyone that appears in your performance. The copyrights and trademarks owned by others, the private information of others, and the right of a person to decide whether or not they appear in your performance are referred to below as “Third Party Rights”. We strongly encourage you to perform only original material so that the permission of third parties will not be required.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT OF YOUR PERFORMANCE. This means that if your performance includes Inappropriate Material, and/or infringes Third Party Rights, YOU and not Yanked! (or our partners or sponsors), are solely responsible and consequently you may face legal action by third parties as a result. Please act accordingly.
We have the absolute right to stop the broadcast of your performance, and/or to disqualify your performance from the current competition or from any future competition, at any time for any reason, in particular in cases where we, in our absolute sole judgement and discretion, determine that your performance includes Inappropriate Material and/or infringes Third Party Rights.
Yanked! is a blast! Whether you are a performer showcasing your talents, or a viewer voting on winners, Yanked! can provide hours of fun. And be sure to tell your friends and spread the word on social media!
